Christmas, 359, Santa, Satan, and Messiah

Bible codes verify pagan aspects of Christmas celebration, invite us to focus on the spirit for good and avoid trappings.
by David A. Kenderes, Sterling D. Allan, Richard Fussell

bullet Introduction

Using the number 359 for the day of the year that Christmas comes yields some interesting commentary through a variety Bible Code approaches.  Dave Kenderes shows, for example, that 359 is the sum of the name of Satan in Hebrew, and that the letters of the name Satan can be switched to read "Santa" [more].  Sterling Allan shows, among other things, that words 359 in the Greek New Testament lexicon and Hebrew and Old Testament lexicon refer to "death" and "trees" and are juxtaposed to 358, which is the sum of the name of Messiah in Hebrew [more].  The opposite meanings that are manifest in words and numbers invite us to discern and shun what is evil or corrupt and seek for its antonym, finding and celebrating what is good in Christmas and in all things.
David Kenderes wants to make it very clear that he does not condone any form of celebrating Christmas, viewing it as wholly pagan.  Sterling believes the code shows that there can be a good side too -- that it is our responsibility to turn evil into good.

Richard Fussell on Day 359 and 666

[10/20/00] Rich came up with these after the study was announced.

'DAY NUMBER CCCLIX WAS PAGAN'
= 666
in Alphabetic x 6 conversion
(a = 6, b = 12, c = 18; space = -192; based on ASCII-number equivalents shifted so a=1 [x 6])
Here are a few more phrases that equal 666 using this same conversion scheme.

CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN S HOLIDAY = 666
SANTA CLAUS HAS SATAN S CLAWS = 666
JESUS HAS NOT A BIRTHDAY = 666
DAY NUMBER 359 BECOMES PERVERSE TO GOD = 666
CHAPTER 359 OF THE KJV BIBLE WAS THE NUMBERING OF ISRAEL = 666
And here are some totaling 888

THE 359TH CHAPTER OF THE KJV BIBLE SAW SATAN PROVOKE DAVID = 888
KJV BIBLE CHAPTER 359 TALLIES ISRAELITES = 888

Richard Fussell
maverick52@netzero.net
And this follow-up one by David A. Kenderes (10/26/00)
SANTACLAUS = 666

SDA Comment:
But that also means that in straight alphabetic conversion (a=1, b=2, etc; space = -36) the total is 111, which is the number of God.  The "was pagan" in the first example implies a past context with the implication that the future is up to us.  Will we choose to straighten this out?

Sterling,
I thought I would put a few things together on the Christmas holiday. Hope you don’t mind?
To me the Bible codes are not just a game or a side hobby… I truly believe that the codes can be used to discern doctrine and predict future events. But all the codes have to be used in conjunction with each to develop a picture that is complete enough to be useful.
Let’s look at some stuff on the Christmas holiday
First off, we all know that Jesus wasn’t born in December. There is some deep tradition (traditions and commandments of men) and history (Catholic history) on how the Christmas (Christ mass) holiday (holy day) was formed. And to save time, I won’t go into how the Unholy Roman Empire started this celebration. Besides you probably know a lot of the history on this thing anyway. You probably know that the Christmas tree was literally worshipped in its infancy. The Germans used to worship the thing!
Let’s look at a passage in Jeremiah:
JR 10:1-4
1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. (KJV)
In the First Speak, we know that the above passage is talking about worshipping wooden idols. But I contend that in the Twice Speak Bible code, it is talking about the infamous Christmas tree! Notice the Twice Speak - Letter Speak (double letter) in the word cutteth “tt”. The “tt” is an indicator that this passage has a double meaning.
Lets look at some more coding. Let’s look at satan in the Scaffolding Letter Bible code:
satan = santa
I didn’t add nor did I take any letters away from satan to form santa!
How about another form of his name using the Scaffolding Rhyming Bible code:
Santa Claus = satan’s claws
When satan gets us to follow his pagan holiday of Christmas, he in a sense puts his claws into us… gets a hold on us.
Now what was satan’s big sin? He wanted to be like God right?
God is all knowing and everywhere at the same time (all the omni’s ha ha)
God will judge the wicked and reward the righteous
Well what about santa? He knows everything about everyone… he knows who is naughty and nice! And he gives rewards (presents) to all that are worthy. He fly’s through the heavens and visits all homes at the same time (Christmas morning)
Have you ever heard of the Infinity Bible code? I haven’t talked about it in the sessions yet. There are at least two variations of the code. One operates within English and one operates from Hebrew to English.
Let me give you an example of the Hebrew/English variation:
It is very similar to your Alphabetics code.
You take a word or phrase in Hebrew (ïè ù ) and get it’s Hebrew Gematria numeric value (359) and convert the Hebrew word to English (satan). Lastly, you go to the chapter in the Bible that corresponds to the Hebrew numeric value and find the English word or a form of that word:

ï è ù = 359
50 9 300
NUN TETH SHIN
S T N
S A T A N
So in the example above, the Hebrew word for satan ( ï è ù )has a Hebrew Gematria value of (359) so we go to the 359th chapter in the Bible and ‘lo and behold’ we find:
1 Chronicles 21:1 And satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. (KJV) (the 359th chapter of the Bible)
The 359th chapter of the Bible is the first time that the name “satan” is found in the Bible!
Let’s take it a step further now…
What date does the 359th day fall on?
Well, there are 365 days in a year and if we back up to the 359th day, we find that it falls on December the 25th (Christmas day)!
Let’s look at the following numbers 5, 55, 155, 59, 159, 359 and 559 and note how the numbers 55 and 59 are directly tied to satan.

1 Chronicles 21:1 And satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. (KJV)
Remember the first place in the Bible that “satan” is found, in the 359th chapter of the Bible (see above)?
Notice also the “121” in “1 Chronicles 21:1” or you can find it this way also “1 Chronicles 21:1” when you Scaffold the numbers. Well, let’s look at some “121’s” and see if there is a connection to “satan” in that number? Do you see that the number has to do with “supremacy” and how satan wants to be in a position of supremacy?

Sterling D. Allan on 359, death, trees, Messiah

Date: Oct. 11, 2000

Dave,
Upon receiving your study on 359 and Christmas, I thought I would pull out my Lexicons to see what might be there on this, if anything.  There is something there all right!

Word 359 in the NT Lexicon

The first place I looked was word 359 in the New Testament Lexicon (Zodhiates)
359  analusis Departure or return, death.
Syn (1841) exodus; (5054), death; (2288), death; (336), taking up or off, putting to death.
Ant. (1083), birth; (867), literally, arrival.
That alone is very interesting inasmuch as Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and it takes place near the winter solstice which symbolizes death, followed by renewal.
As a perfect juxtaposition for 359, which you mentioned is the sum of the letters that spell "Satan" in Hebrew, 358 is the sum of the letters that spell "Messiah" in Hebrew.  So Messiah and Satan are placed side by side -- the archetypal antonyms.  Ironically, the date I indicated in my margin for discovering the Messiah 358 connection was 10/10/97, three years and one day prior to today's date in which Dave has brought the number 359 to my attention in relation to days of the year, and specifically to Christmas.
Word 358 in Zodhiates' New Testament lexicon lists as the first and only synonym the word moros (3474), useless.  "Useless," is the definition for word 888, which is the sum of the letters that spell Jesus (Iesous) in Greek.  Indeed, "useless" is how the Messiah was treated in the flesh by his own people who he came to redeem.  I've done several studies on 888 showing how this number expounds and testifies of Christ.
Those of us who might tend to take a pharisaical approach to Christmas by shunning it altogether because of its pagan roots must admit that just as these opposites exist in relation to 359 in the New Testament, so are there antonym manifestations in Christmas -- good and bad.  While discerning and shunning the bad, we should embrace the good.  Jesus is no more "useless" than Christmas is wholly evil.

Word 359 in the OT Lexicon

Word 359 in the Old Testament Hebrew (Gesenius) means
359  Eloth "trees," "a grove," perhaps, of palm trees.
Bingo, the primary pagan symbol of Christmas -- the Christmas tree.  Gesenius' definition explanation even includes the word (abbreviation of a last name) "Christ."
Like in the New Testament, word 358 before it provides some interesting opposite commentary.
358  Elon "oak"
This is not far removed from the Hebrew words Alon [hey! I can relate to that name] and alah which also mean "oak," and which tie in to the name of God and the suitable metaphorical meaning of "strong and mighty" as represented by the oak tree.

Page 359 in Zodhiates' NT Lexicon

The first definition on page 359 of Zodhiates' New Testament lexicon is
1064 gaster The belly
(II) The womb
Which certainly conveys the idea of birth, which is fitting in this context.
The next word is the enclitic particle (whatever that is) ge, which "serves to strengthen or render more emphatic the word to which it is appended by placing it in opposition to other words and thus fixing the attention upon it."  The word "greater" is used frequently in the explanation of this word.
Indeed, winter time is typically morose compared to the brightness of other times of year.  And the image and hope of Christ in the midst of that bleakness brings a joy to that time of year that otherwise would be dead.  This I cannot believe is a bad thing, despite what ever pagan roots brought us to celebrate the Savior's birth at this time of year.
Fitting with the above discussion of 359 in the Hebrew OT lexicon [and I did not see this until after I had written the above], this definition of the word ge includes the following explanation:
(II)..(1) Preceded by alla (235), but, alla ge or in one word allage, meaning yet at least, yet surely.
On the page prior to 359, is found the following phrase,
"Where is he that is born King of the Jews? (He must be born) for we have seen his star."
This passage is used to illustrate usage of the Greek word gar.
The last word on page 359 is Gedeon.  In light of the above commentary for word 359 in Hebrew, above [again, I am just now seeing this, after already writing that up] read this commentary from Zodhiates.
1066 gedeon ... transliterated from the Hebr. Gid'on (1439, OT) a hewer.  Gedeon ... firest comes into notice when an angel appears to him under the oak . . .  Subsequently, God commanded him to offer as a sacrifice to the Lord the bullock which his father had set apart for Bal and to destroy the alter of Baal.
How apropos to our discussion here of turning a pagan holiday into a holy celebration.
In opposite contrast to the idea of the birth of Christ, and in keeping with the idea of Baal, on the next page after 359 is found the word 1067, geenna "Hell, the place or state of the lost and condemned," followed by word 1068 Gethsemane on the next page, which is the counterpart event in the savior's life -- his death and subsequent resurrection -- turning evil into good.

Page 359 in Gesenius OT Lexicon

On page 359 of Gesenius' Hebrew lexicon of the Old Testament (words 3309 - 3318) are several words that mean "shine, to give light, splendid," as well as "to go out, to set free."  All these convey the idea of the sister celebration to Christmas, namely Easter.
I would dare say the same principle applies to that holiday as does to Christmas.  It too is riddled with pagan rituals, but it too contains an essence of goodness depending on how it is celebrated.

Page 358 and 359 of LDS Topical Guide

This idea is confirmed further by the topics that fall on pages 358 and 359 of the LDS Topical Guide.
On page 358 is are the Easter-relevant topics
Passion
Passion of Jesus Christ
Passover
Past
And on page 359
Pastor
Pasture
Path
Patience
Patriarch
These latter topics are not as immediately apparent in their application as the topics on page 358 were.  "Pasture," calls to mind the shepherds in the field, keeping watch over their flocks, when suddenly . . . . "Patience" could be thought of as a virtue necessary as we learn to week out the pagan aspects and embrace the holy aspects of this holidays.  "Path" matches a proposed definition found on page 359 of Gesenius OT lexicon, "for whom a way is prepared" (3312).   "Pastor" calls to mind the idea of those in care of the flock who should help them understand such principles as we are now discussing.
That's all for now.  [For conclusion, see Introduction above.]

<snip>
I looked up page 359 of my same book and the following are some of the words that I found (3309-3318):
3313 - to shine, to be bright (the Christmas season is bright and Jesus was born under a bright star)
3314- beauty, splendour of a city (Christmas lights are beutiful in the cities)
3312 - for whom a way is prepared (Jesus is the way, the truth and the life)
3315 - Japheth, the second son of Noah, whose descendants are stated to have especially occupied the western and northern regions of the earth... (Christmas is basically a northern and western holiday)
3316 - whom, or what God sets free, see root (Jesus is the "root" and He is the one that sets us free!)
3318 - to go out, to go forth to germinate, to expand, as a plant, they use in the sense of going out, when speaking of men and other things (Jesus is the sower of "good (God) seed" and is the "root" and the "branch")
Am I on the right track? Am I Alphabeticing yet? ha ha
Getting back to your findings on 359, I am not saying that you did not find words and phrases such and birth, to be born and like under the number 359. And I'm not even saying that the good side of the number 359 doesn't represent Jesus' birth... it might. All I am saying is that I don't believe that just because many Christians honor December 25th (the 359th day of the year) for Jesus' birth makes it right. If it is a pagan holiday it's a pagan holiday - simple math. We don't steal to have more goods to feed the poor.
If there are related words on Alphabetics code for Jesus' birth, can't we possibly conclude that they are there because of the fact that many Christians are inadvertently honoring this day and not because they are commanded or supposed to honor it?
Dave
